Connect Claude & Cursor via Onepage MCP

Connect your favorite external AI assistants (like Claude or Cursor) directly to Onepage and build entire sites using your own AI subscription.

Written by Alina

Welcome to the future of website building with Onepage!

We are excited to introduce you to the Model Context Protocol (MCP), which is now officially available in beta. MCP is a powerful connection between Onepage and the AI assistants you already use daily outside of our platform. Instead of working exclusively within the integrated editor, you can now use your own external AI assistant to control Onepage, create pages, and manage content for you.

The difference from the internal AI: Under the hood, both systems use the same Onepage AI brain, but MCP currently offers you two crucial advantages:

  • Page-by-page thinking: While the internal AI mostly works section by section, MCP can grasp, build, or correct an entire page in a single request.

  • Save your Onepage credits: Text tokens are billed directly through your own external AI subscription (e.g., with Claude or Cursor). This means your Onepage AI credits remain completely untouched!

📌 Please note: To use the MCP feature, an active Onepage AI membership is required in the background.

What can MCP currently do?

During the beta phase, your external AI assistant can perform the following actions via MCP:

  • Pages: Create, publish, take offline, and archive

  • Vibe Sections: Fully create and edit individual components

  • Structure: Rename, move, and rearrange sections

  • Websites: Create new websites, manage branding (colors & fonts), and upload media

Include a bold Hero section, an infinite scrolling marquee banner for partner logos, a sleek 'Bento box' features grid, pricing tables, and an animated FAQ section.

Use heavy animations, neon accents, and glassmorphism elements to make it look like a premium, high-converting tech website. Fill it with realistic text and make it visually spectacular!"

Important Beta Rules & Best Practices

The quality of the model is crucial:

MCP depends heavily on the AI model used. For the best results, we recommend premium models like Claude 3.5 Sonnet. You should not expect perfect results from smaller models like Haiku or GPT Flash.

Always provide clear context:

Always tell the AI exactly which page or section should be worked on (e.g., "Add a contact section to my homepage").

Reload the page to see changes:

The live preview is still in development. If you have the Onepage editor open while the AI is working, reload the page to see the changes.

Be cautious with major changes:

An extended version history is already planned. Until then, we recommend being cautious with large or imprecise prompts on existing live projects, as content could be overwritten.

How to get access to the beta

MCP is currently only available to users in our beta group with an active Onepage AI membership. Everything created via MCP will automatically appear in your beta area: https://beta.onepage.io/
