10/10 Check your pre-launch checklist & publish your page

In this article you will learn which points you should check before publishing your website and how to successfully take your page live afterwards.

You made it! You have built your website, adjusted content and design, configured your SEO and legal settings and connected your domain. Before your page goes live, one final quality check is worth the effort. The following checklist helps you make sure that everything is set up correctly.

Your go-live checklist

Check your forms

Go through your forms once more in full and make sure that all the content and settings you want are stored correctly.

  • Are all the questions and form fields you want in place and set up correctly?

  • Are the individual steps of the form complete and arranged in the order you want?

  • In the Finish Step, is the option "Send leads to CRM" enabled if you want to transfer leads to your CRM?

  • Are any further settings, for example notifications (if set up), stored correctly?

💡 Tip: After publishing, we recommend filling in and testing every form yourself once. That way you can make sure that the data and notifications arrive as intended.

Check your links

Click through your menu items, buttons and links in the editor and check whether the correct target pages or URLs are stored everywhere.

Pay particular attention to the following:

  • Are all internal pages linked correctly?

  • Do external links work and do they lead to the intended website?

  • Are all menu entries and buttons linked to the correct target?

💡 Tip: Check the links again on the live page after publishing.

Check embeds & external content

If you have embedded external content, check whether it is set up correctly.

This includes, for example:

  • iFrames

  • Videos

  • Calendars

  • Third-party tools

  • Tracking code or other external code

Make sure that the relevant content and functions are embedded correctly.

Check legal texts & cookie banner

Check whether your legal content is embedded correctly:

  • Are the legal notice and the privacy policy linked in the footer, for example?

  • Have you activated your cookie banner?

  • If you use an external cookie banner: is the corresponding code embedded correctly?

Check the mobile view

Switch to the mobile view in the editor and check whether your content is also displayed correctly on smaller screens.

Pay particular attention to:

  • Text and headings

  • Images and videos

  • Buttons

  • Spacing

  • Columns and sections

💡 Tip: Because the display can vary slightly depending on the device and screen width, we recommend testing your page on a real smartphone as well after publishing.

Check indexing

If you want your website to be found by search engines, check the indexing settings before publishing to be on the safe side.

At page level: Open the page for editing and go to "Settings" → "Page settings". Under "Indexing", the option "Allow indexing of this page" should be enabled.

At project level: In the project overview, open "Settings" → "General". The option "Disable site indexing" must not be enabled.

📌 Please note: These settings are configured accordingly by default. We still recommend checking them once more before going live.

Check your SEO settings

Go through your SEO settings once more and make sure that the most important details are stored for your pages.

Check in particular:

  • Page title

  • Page description

  • Keywords, where relevant

  • Heading structure

  • Alt texts for images

Everything checked? Then your page can go live!

If everything is in order, you can publish your website.

To do so, open the pages you want and click the blue "Publish" button at the bottom right.

Your page will then be reachable under your connected custom domain or, if you have not connected a custom domain, under your onepage.me domain.

After publishing

Once you are live, take a few more minutes and check your website directly on the live version.

Test in particular:

  • Forms and lead submission

  • Buttons and links

  • Menu and navigation

  • External content and embeds

This way you make sure that your website also works as intended outside the editor.

Your website is live - what now?

If you want your website to be found on Google, keep in mind that indexing does not happen immediately. How quickly Google crawls your pages and shows them in the search results is up to Google and can take some time.

You can trigger indexing manually via the Google Search Console. There you can also submit your sitemap. A manual indexing request can help new or changed content get crawled by Google more quickly.

That means you have completed all the important steps! You have planned, built and optimized your website, configured your legal and SEO-relevant settings, connected your domain and checked the most important points before going live.

Your Onepage website is now ready for launch. Good luck!
