Set up Password Protection for Projects & individual Pages

Password protection allows you to securely restrict access to your content and make it available only to specific people. You can choose whether to protect your entire website, multiple selected pages within a project, or just a single page.

Additionally, you can take advantage of features such as multiple passwords, expiration dates, session duration, and custom password pages.

If you want to protect multiple pages or an entire website, you can enable password protection directly in the project settings.

Go to your project overview and open the "Settings" tab.

Open the "Password protection" tab and make sure the "Specific pages" option is selected.

Click "Protect page" and select the pages you want to protect with the same password.

Next, you can create one or more passwords or generate them automatically. You can also configure an expiration date, session time, and choose which password page should be displayed.

Click "Save" to apply your changes.

You can always view the status of your protected pages in the overview:

If you want to protect your entire website, you can enable password protection for the entire project.

Go to your project overview and open the "Settings" tab.

Open the "Password protection" tab and select "Entire Website".

You will then be asked to confirm that you want to switch to site-wide password protection. Click "Confirm" to proceed.

You can then configure the password protection to suit your needs:

With multiple passwords, you can create different access points for different people or groups, for example.

In addition to protecting an entire project or multiple pages, you can also secure individual pages independently.

To enable password protection for a single page:

Open the desired page.

Open the page settings by clicking the gear icon and switch to the "Password" tab.

Enable the "Protected" option. You can then configure the same settings as with project protection:

This allows you to protect a single page specifically without requiring password protection for the entire project.

For the password prompt, you can either use the default password page or create your own custom password protection page.

A custom password page is useful, for example, if you want to provide visitors with additional information, use your own branding, or present exclusive content in a professional way.

Our default password page looks like this:

How to Create a custom Password page:

Create a new page by clicking "Create" in the top-right corner of your project overview.

Click "Start from the scratch" and assign a name to your page, for example "Password".

Design the protected page entirely according to your preferences:

This allows you to add a personal welcome message, additional information, or your own branding before visitors enter the password.

After creating your section or page, add the element. To do this, click the blue + icon at the desired location and then select the "Password input" element.

You can fully customize the element to match your design. You can adjust, among other things:

Additionally, you can add more input fields. These fields are optional:

To add them, click on the element and select "Add item".

You can then send the collected data directly to your CRM.

Once your page has been created, publish it first. Then go to the password protection settings (for example, for a specific page or a project, depending on where you enabled password protection).

Under "Password page", select your newly created page and then click "Save".

You can create multiple passwords for a protected website or page. To do this, click "Add additional password" and configure the desired settings for each password.

For each additional password, you can:

Multiple passwords are useful, for example, when different people or groups should each receive their own access. This allows you to manage individual passwords independently or remove them when needed without affecting the other access points.

Typical use cases include:

The password name helps you distinguish between the different access points. This name is only visible to you for management purposes and is not shown to visitors.

The dashboard shows how many times each password has been unlocked today.

To view this, click "Password protection" in Settings, then click "Unlocks" for the relevant page under "Specific pages". There, you can see the current unlock count.

Starting with the Advanced Plan, an access history is also available. There, you can view the following information:

If the password page includes additional fields such as an email address or phone number, this information is also stored.

To view this, click the three dots on the respective subpage and then click "Activity". All relevant information will be displayed there.

To view the history for the entire website, click "Access history". There, you can view the relevant information.
